Colspark seeks to give college students a platform to solve companies’ sales, marketing and general business problems. We do this through 2 ways:
a) Case Challenges
Students present their strategies in a brief proposal within a competitive setting. Companies review these proposals and reward the best solution providers with either cash rewards, interships, certificates or interview opportunities.
b) Idea Bank
This is an aggregator of ideas suggested by students to companies' problems. By coming up with solutions to real-world problems, students learn to think out-of-the-box and sharpen their innovative capabilities.
Through this initiative, students are able to challenge themselves and engage with the corporate world. From our market research, we found there is a strong desire amongst students to participate in such programs but a possible lack of opportunities available to them.
Companies, especially those going through budget cuts in today’s economy, will have access to another means to solving their problems by adopting an “open innovation” model. They will also be able to assess prospective employees more effectively by the quality of their work.
